The Giant Sequoias and Moro Rock

Since my parents have been here we haven't really stopped doing things until today. We have had quite the week so far and there's no better way to tell a story than with pictures, so here are a few as we progressed with our first adventure...

We started off winding through the foothills on the way to Sequoia National Park.

Once we got through the entrance of the park we had to stop at the lodge to know what some of the highlights that had to be seen were. Those highlights included Moro Rock and General Sherman.

The drive through the park was beautiful. But we must have done 200 switchbacks from the beginning to General Sherman (tallest Giant Sequoia @ 275 ft.)

Here was a fallen Redwood on the path to the top of Moro Rock.

Moro Rock from a distance.

Kirstie was a tad uneasy on the trip to the top, but she was a trooper all the way!

There was plenty to look at once we got to the top. Recognizing the peaks that were around us and such.

We all made it safe and sound, up and down.

This was the first noticeably giant Giant Sequoia that we passed and had to get some pictures with it. :) See how Faja sizes up to the GS.

Just looks funny.

Here's The General. A total of 52,000 cubic feet of tree.

It never seemed to stop. I want to make it my tree house.

A fallen tree trunk. HUGE!

On our way back from the Sequoias we stopped on the side of the road to take some pictures of a vineyard that looked pretty ripe.

Yummy! :)

All in all a very fun day!

We went to some choice vineyards and the beach yesterday, but that will have to be the next post. This one is pretty long as is. :)
